If you're headed to Belize to fish one of the many famous destinations throughout the country, then consider adding on a couple of days to tour the mainland and see some of the many things that make Belize great. We can easily arrange a number of add-on tour packages throughout the country, and also set up accommodations in Belize City at the Radisson Hotel or at several jungle lodges and resorts throughout the mainland.
Tours and activities packages of any length can be arranged. Please contact Yellow Dog for details.
For guests that plan on overnighting in the Belize City area, we recommend and work with the Radisson Ft. George Hotel and Marina, the nicest, most full-service hotel operation in the entire city. This large hotel operation is clean, safe, and extremely well-run, with a full range of amenities and services.
The recently renovated rooms at the Radisson offer guests such comforts as cable television, direct-dial telephone, coffee maker, hand-crafted furniture made by Belizean craftsmen, and a small refrigerator. Many of the hotel's rooms feature views of the ocean.
When it's time to relax, guests enjoy two swimming pools, a state-of-the-art Fitness Center, dive shop and full-service marina. The hotel's Guest Services desk can arrange last-minute sight-seeing tours, including Belize diving trips, jungle tours, Mayan ruins excursions, and numerous other activities. Also, with more than 6,000 square feet of space in six comfortable, air-conditioned meeting rooms, the Fort George Hotel is one of the area's top conference venues. Outdoor events for up to 400 people, including weddings, can be arranged in the beautiful gardens and poolside area.
St. George's Dining Room at the Fort George Hotel is known for its seafood specialties and international cuisine. For a great selection of cocktails and light snacks, visit Baymen's Tavern and the Poolside Bar, also located at the Radisson.
From a quick three-hour guided tour of Olde Belize City while waiting for an afternoon flight to a multi-day jungle and mainland excursion, we can easily create an itinerary that will work well for you! If you’re headed to Belize to fish Turneffe, Ambergris, Placencia, Punta Gorda or Dangriga, why not add a couple of days on to either end of the trip to explore the non-fishing aspects and offerings of this amazing country? Let us arrange a tour itinerary that includes such activities as Mayan ruins tours, jungle river tours, trips to the Belize Zoo, diving, snorkeling, cave tubing on the famous Cave’s Branch River, overnight packages at unique and luxurious jungle lodges, and much more. Even if you simply find yourself in Belize City for a day while awaiting a late afternoon flight from the International Airport we can arrange a half day tour of the city, a trip to the zoo, or a quick visit to nearby Mayan ruins.
Depending on the type of mainland tour and activity that you are participating in, equipment, vehicles, boats, etc. will vary.
For non-anglers visiting the Belizean mainland, or for those anglers looking to add a day or two to the fishing portion of their trip, there are numerous activities and options available. Ruins tours, rivers excursions, zoo trips, biking, canoeing, bird watching, kayaking, snorkeling on the outer islands, manatee watching, visits to local Indian villages, cave tubing and numerous other activities can all be arranged through Yellow Dog.
International flights to Belize go through Miami, Dallas, Houston, Atlanta and Charlotte. The major airlines that service Belize are American, Delta, Continental, US Air, and Taca.
All schedules and itineraries can be accommodated with mainland tours and activities. Keep in mind, however, that most tours are full day excursions.
