What is the difference between the Z-Axis and the ZXL?
It is simply that the ZXL just has a much more moderate or traditional feel to it. Some anglers do not like the new progressive faster action rods. The ZXL targets that consumer or someone that would like a dry fly rod (perfect for women or some one with a slower casting stroke). It still has all the features as the Z-axis (Generation 5 Technology, High end cork and guides, EST.)  Some of other small differences it that the ZXL comes with the SG (Small Grip) handle, Ultra-light snake guides making the rod just slightly lighter than the Z-axis.
