Cajun Camp – Redfish Trip with Front Range Anglers
Do you like adventures and getting off the beaten path? If so, then this is a trip you do not want to miss. After arriving at Louis Armstrong Airport, we are not headed to New Orleans. Instead, we are going deep into Cajun country for Bull Reds and Cajun cuisine. Our camp on the bayou is about an hour from the airport; and we can’t give you any more location information because the guides who fish here are intent on keeping it secret. No, you don’t have to wear a blindfold, but you will have to turn of geo-tagging on your camera. Authenticity, un-pressured water, and big Bull Reds are all staples of this hosted trip, offered exclusively by FRA. We will “passuh a good time there fer true.”

What to expect fly fishing in Cajun Country
Mornings start early with a run to the marsh where you will see Cajun Camps with their Po Pierre nets (for shrimp) Rosy Spoonbills, and large Bull Reds. This is an authentic Lousiana fishing experience in their beautiful Bayous and marsh.
Our main target species is redfish, but not just regular redfish. We are looking for big bulls, 15-30lbs, and bigger. There are other species we may bump into as well such as Black Drum, Sea Trout, and Jack Crevalle. 9 weight rod with a good saltwater reel will be the most used tool. Consult with FRA about the condition of your current equipment and tackle connections and backing. FRA can also create a custom fly box for your trip. Most flys will be crab or shrimp imitations. Other Equipment includes good Polarized sunglasses (amber or copper), rain jacket, sun protection (clothing and cream), insect repellant, sunhat, fishing gloves, finger tape, camera. FRA has a complete selection of saltwater fishing accessories. Weather and temperature can vary a lot this time of year. Generally the run to the fishing grounds will be cool/cold. FRA will send you a comprehensive equipment list upon booking.
The typical daily schedule. Please keep in mind that your daily schedule will vary in accordance with tides and your fishing desires.

- 7:00AM: Depart Fishing Grounds
