Nola Redfish Trip with Front Range Anglers

Late fall and winter in Louisiana is an excellent time for large Redfish less than an hour from New Orleans. On this trip, we will be staying in a houseboat lodge right next to the dock where we shove off each day from Hopedale, or drive to Delacroix. This is marsh fishing at it’s most pristine; sight casting to Reds than be over 30lbs. Not only can the Redfishing be spectacular, you will be amazed at the expanse and beauty of the fishery. Also, your host is very host is very knowledgeable of the many sights, sounds, and smells of New Orleans. Late fall and winter in Louisiana is an excellent time for large Redfish less than an hour from New Orleans. On this trip, we will be staying in a houseboat lodge right next to the dock where we shove off each day from Hopedale, or drive to Delacroix. This is marsh fishing at it’s most pristine; sight casting to Reds than be over 30lbs. Not only can the Redfishing be spectacular, you will be amazed at the expanse and beauty of the fishery. The full-time guides are extremely knowledgeable when it comes to this fishery and applicable angling techniques.  Redfish are the main target species, but you do occasionally bump into other fish such as Black Drum, Speckled Trout, and Jack Crevalle.

9-10 weight rods with good saltwater reels will be the most used tool. Consult with FRA about the  condition of your current equipment and tackle connections and backing. FRA can also create a  custom fly box for your trip. Most flies will be crab or shrimp imitations

Boats/Equipment/Transportation
All of the fishing is done from your guides flats boats, as the pole you through the marsh.  Transportation to and from the rental is done in rental cars. Aside from rods/reels, anglers are expected to  have good Polarized sunglasses (amber or copper), rain jacket, sun protection (clothing  and cream), insect repellent, sunhat, fishing gloves, finger tape, camera. FRA has a complete  selection of saltwater fishing accessories.

Where is Nola?

 

Most anglers will know where New Orleans is, but the city can be a labyrinth. Fortunately, your host is well versed in the intricacies of travel here. Your rental is in Marigney, on the East edge of the French Quarter.  Your boat launch is out of Hopedale or Delacroix.

How to Get There
You will fly into Louis Armstrong Internationl (MSY).  From there and depending on your arrival time, your host will provide some pick-ups at the airport.

Documents Required

A drivers license and fishing license are needed.

Cancellation/Refund Policy

At time of booking 50% of the trip is due and payable. At 45 days the remainder is due. Cancellation greater than 90 days from date of trip, all monies refunded less $100 fee if a replacement angler is found. if within 90 Days, no refunds are provided unless a qualified replacement angler is provided. No refunds are provided for trip cancellation due to Weather, Acts of God, Airline/Travel issues. Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance is strongly advised & recommended.
