Our Focus on Education

Over the last several years Front Range Anglers has been considering and implementing ways to improve the quality of your angling experience. Our various electronic publications, fishing reports and articles in the local papers are all part of this objective. We recently decided to expand our education program by creating a new learning center in the shop.

We will start by offering for sale or rental a comprehensive range of personally selected DVD/VHS videos for our customers. Initially rentals will be available for the beginner. Intermediate and advanced, etc., will be available for purchase only.

Not only are we adding a variety of new products we also have some “oldies but goodies”.

Rentals will be $3.00 for seven days - check out on a Saturday and return the following Saturday. By doing this it will give the person renting the tape several opportunities to view and review the information.

We’ve classified the DVD/VHS into beginner, intermediate and advanced categories.

Not only can you rent these products, but you can take advantage of several saving opportunities when you make a purchase.

If you rent the beginner version and subsequently decide to purchase the intermediate or advanced product, your rental fee will be deducted from the cost of the purchase.
If you decide to purchase both the intermediate and the advanced, your rental fee will be refunded and you will receive a 10% discount.
If you decide to purchase all three levels your rental fee will be refunded and you’ll receive a 20% discount.

The rental system we have devised is set up like a public library in that there is no credit card involved. When a person checks out the DVD/VHS there will be a card that will filled out with the renters name and phone number. This card will be kept on file until the return of the DVD/VHS. As we all know fly fishers are the only “really” honest fisher-persons. The reason for the phone number is in case you had an opportunity to go fishing to your favorite water and temporarily forgot to return the DVD/VHS; then you will receive a phone call as a gentle reminder. There are no late fees as such, but, we know that you will automatically feel guilty and make some purchases when you return the DVD/VHS so this eliminates the “need” for late fee!

I have reviewed all the “oldies but goodies” that we have in the shop (all of which are for rent) and have critiqued them using a scale from Excellent to Bad. You may disagree but this is my opinion. Other staff members will be reviewing and adding their critiques later.
