Getting Started
Cost: $69.95

 

Beginning Fly Tying Class at Front Range AnglersThis three hour workshop gives the necessary head start on learning to tie flies. It starts with basic techniques such as starting thread, winding thread, and whip finishing. Then, you will learn material handling while tying basic flies that actually catch fish.

Materials and vise are included for the class. A 15% discount is offered on materials and fly tying tools purchased the day of the class. Rental vises and material kits are available for post workshop tying at an additional fee.

Winter Midges
Cost: $69.95

Dial in your winter fishing game and load up your box with the smallest flies that will actually catch fish.  Students will learn how to tie flies down to a size 26!  Learn which patterns actually catch fish during Colorado's winter months.  A must for the tailwater angler or year round angler.

All About the Parachute

This Workshop is a focus on parachute flies.  This style of fly is very effective on the water and yet most tiers shy away from tying parachutes.  Learn how to tie a perfect parachute and tailor it towards your favorite hatch.  This class if perfect for any angler who fishes in Colorado and beyond.

Spinning Deer Hair

Deer hair has some amazing properties.  In this Workshop learn how to really spin deer hair, while creating some of the best bass, pike, and monster trout patterns.  A truly unique way to put materials on the hook.  For anglers who like to catch the most aggressive fish in the water, sign up.

Callibeatis Hatch
Cost: $69.95

Calliebaetis are one Spring’s first great lake hatches and are abundant on our local waters. Learn how to match the hatch in this one night class focused on teaching you step by step instruction on some of the most successful imitations for each stage of this Mayfly life - from nymph to spinner. We will also be talking about particulars of fishing these sometimes difficult hatches.

European Nymphs

This is a one night class that is designed to give intermediate tyers an idea of what is involved when tying nymphs for European nymphing techniques.  Topics will range from realistic anchor flies, trigger flies, and how to build a well rounded euro nymph box.
