Step
Tying Instruction:
1
Start thread 3 eye lengths behind hook eye. Wrap a thread base to 1/3 shank length.

Tie in tail material. Cut off excess.NOTE: Tail length equals body length.

Wrap thread base over tail material to above hook point.

Tie in abdomen "vane" with notch forward/up, wrap thread base to above hook barb.Note: The "vane" is opposite the "biot" side of a turkey quill.

Return the thread to 3 eye lengths behind hook eye.

Wrap abdomen biot to in front of wing. Tie off and cut off excess.

Tie in wing material, slant back style. Do not cut off excess.

Tie in hackle in front of wing.

Dub thorax behind and in front of wing to 2 eye lengths behind hook eye.

Wrap hackle in front of wing and through the thorax to 2 eye lengths behind hook eye.

Tie in hackle and cut off excess.

Whip-finish a small head.

Trim wing to length. NOTE: Wing length equals body length.
14
Trim a "V" the width of the thorax in the hackle on the bottom of fly.
