In the second of three Double Spey tips, Simon Gawesworth shows the significance of landing the line as close to you as possible on the “Set Up” stroke, to ensure the largest, and most effective D-loop, by focusing on the “X-axis”. This may be designed for a double handed rod but, this can easily translate to trout fishing with a single handed rod as well.
