River Report August 20, 2020
Yesterday I spent the day on the Fraser River located on the Edgewater property in Granby. The morning was a nice 48 degrees and the water temps hung around 56 for the morning. The flows have dropped to normal flows and we tended to find most of our fish in the deeper pools or fast riffles shoots. In the morning there was a pretty prolific beatis hatch and fish were coming up everywhere. We manage to get a couple strikes on the surface using a CDC Comparadun sz 22 with a more olive brown color. Outside of that hatch in the morning we primarily focused on a dry dropper rig. Our dry flies were primarily hopper patterns but had no success even though they were crushing it the day before. All of our fish were landed on the nymphs and we used juju beatis(20), brown perdigon(18-20), frenchie(18-20), and a pheasant tail(18-22).
