Floating the Two Yurt River between stationary lodges you will fish arguably some of the world’s most beautiful river miles. Whether at Two Yurt or the Ozernaya our style of fishing is wading-oriented, although other types can be easily accommodated. If you do not feel comfortable wade fishing, you can easily and successfully enjoy angling from the boat.

Our goal is to bring you an unparalleled fishing experience for large, wild, surface feeding, native Rainbow Trout. We offer access to the finest Rainbow Trout rivers in the world. In addition to the Bows, the Kamchatka peninsula hosts six species of Pacific Salmon, trophy Grayling and multiple species of Char. Starting in early June, King, Chum, Sockeye Salmon, and sea-run Dolly Varden flood into the rivers.

With a huge run of Sockeye and King Salmon, Rainbows gorge on eggs and flesh growing to large proportions. Two Yurt combines many streams and offers every imaginable type of water, from freestone pocket water too long spring creek glides.

  • By late June the mighty King Salmon enter the river pulling Rainbow Trout upstream from both the Yelovka and Kamchatka river drainages.
  • From early July to early October, the 50 miles of river below the lake become thick with Rainbows.

Without a doubt, it is the lake drain/spring creek character of the Two Yurt that gives it the remarkable number of fish in this 100-mile long system.  The Two Yurt is the same approximate latitude as Prince Rupert flowing through the Tamarac Island of Kamchatka.

The Two Yurt float trip offers the same high standard of comfort and service.

A small group of six anglers per week will travel between stationary cabins located perfectly along the river.  With hot showers, large dining facilities, electricity, and heat, nothing is forgotten except the hustle and bustle of the outside world.  Fewer anglers fish Two Yurt in a season than many famous Alaska rivers see in a day.

The season on the Two Yurt emphasizes fishing rather than floating.  Some of the camps are located more closely together to allow more intensive coverage of prime pieces of water.

Anglers begin and end each day at one of five permanent camps that are spaced a full day of fishing apart.

  • Each of the camps is 100% supported by cabins.
  • Three guest cabins, hot showers, flush toilets all make this for a comfortable float.
  • Each cabin has a wood stove, electricity, and a comfortable bed.

All of our locations now have cabins for the dining rooms as well as staff quarters.

We are ecstatic to announce there will be direct flight service to Kamchatka during the summer.

We will once again enjoy a quick and easy flight to the best Rainbow Trout fishing on the planet. Yakutia Airlines has announced with 100% certainty they are assuming the route from Anchorage to Petropavlovsk, Kamchatka.

The flight schedule is as follows:

Flight #XF712 will depart from Anchorage on Monday mornings at 7:30 am, with an arrival in Kamchatka at 8:00 am Tuesday. After a great week of fishing you will depart on Monday night at 9:30 pm, arriving back in Anchorage the Monday morning at 5:50 am on Flight #XF711.

This early arrival back to the States allows plenty of time to clear US customs and immigration to connect up with your flight home. We have over 10 years of experience working with this schedule and know it is extraordinarily convenient.

We can tell you this…you are in good hands with Yakutia Airlines.

Previously we used their service when we flew our guests through Seoul.  We know from experience how they run their operation and we have good news to report.  Flights were consistently on time and they did not lose a single piece of luggage all season long.

We will again be relying upon Red Star Travel to handle our travel logistics.  They have done a wonderful job in the past and we are confident they will continue to take great care of our guests.  Over the years we have found it is best to centralize all ticketing, visa, invitation and insurance processes.  Red Star Travel can be reached at

Once on Kamchatka, you will travel by Mi-8 which was first put into production in late 1965 and is considered the most reliable and safe commercial helicopter ever made.

With twin turbine engines designed for a capacity of 24 anglers and gear, there is no better view of the peninsula.  Boasting an impressive 8,820-pound payload, a cruising speed of over 100 mph, and a ceiling of more than 16,000 feet, all of Kamchatka relies on this dependable aircraft.  The Aviation Board issues flight clearances and keeps a strict watch on all of the commercial aviation companies ensuring you a safe flight schedule.  With a considerable operational range of 360 miles, the MI-8 is designed to take you to areas completely inaccessible by road.  Like any remote wilderness area, weather delays are possible although they are rare.
