Front Range Anglers is simply fantastic. Every time I walk in someone greets me and they make you feel welcome. They... don't only treat you as a customer, they treat you as a friend. The staff is wonderful, and they truly care about your satisfaction. The shop is probably the most well rounded shop I have ever seen, meaning that they don't focus mainly on just one thing with a few other things thrown in. No, they are truly balanced in every area, rods, waders, clothing, fly tying, flies, and any accessory or special item you may be looking for. It's the most family friendly fly shop I have ever been in, with supreme customer service, which these days means very much to me. If you have never visited FRA, you're missing out on something special.read more

5 stars for Front Range Anglers, and our guide Scott! My family booked a guided fly fishing trip in Colorado with... Front Range Anglers. Turns out our group had to change our plans last minute, and the staff at Front Range was super helpful with that. I love the store, and it's definitely Boulder's best fly fishing shop. The trip itself was perfect. Scott was super professional and friendly over the phone before our trip. He called a few times to make sure we had everything we needed, and asked a lot about exactly what we wanted in our day. We got out to a stunningly beautiful part of Colorado, (as we had requested), and were catching fish the first hour of our trip. Scott taught us a ton about different uses of flies, the gear we needed, how to stay safe, fly fishing etiquette, and also taught us a lot of technique. We caught a bunch of fish, and there were many more that 'got away.' (I'm still working on my technique..) I hope we get to book a trip like this in future. Thank you Front Range, and Scott, for everything.read more

Well. I'm a bluegill/crappie angler by trade and wanted to get my feet wet (so to speak) in the fly fishing game. Fly... fishing has a high level of entry, but the guys at Front Range Anglers help make it a bit easier. Just the nicest people that are really dedicated to their craft.read more

We recently did a 1/2 day guided trip via Front Range Anglers who paired us up with our guide, David, who was great to... work with. We fished below the damn on the Big Thompson River outside of Estes Park and caught several smaller browns and rainbows. Would recommend FRA for anyone looking to get up and fish close to Denver!read more

None of the people in our group had ever been fly-fishing prior to booking our full-day trip with FRA: My friends and... I caught fish all day long, had a great meal right off the side of the creek and learned the all basics of fly-fishing. What more is there to ask for? I can't say enough about this place and their staff - only the best here!read more

I went into FRA for the first time this week to pick up a new reel and line. When I arrived, guy at the counter was... terse with me. Odd experience as I always go into a new fly shop looking for conversation and advice and they were very slow on a Wednesday afternoon. I wanted a click pawl and line for a new rod I recently acquired and was deferred to someone else. The guy that helped me in the end was very helpful, but I was put off by the initial interaction. Having had a 50/50 experience, I was curious to see what the fishing report would be as I plan to fish SBC in the morning. Just called and was told they have no information. Giving 3 stars instead of 2 as I’ve heard very good things about FRA, but I’m giving the benefit of the doubt at this point as 2 out of 3 of my interactions have been negative.read more

These guys are great! Knowledgeable, professional, and experienced. A lot of people talk it but these guys do it.... Guiding trips to places like Christmas Island and Alaska and carrying a wide variety of gear from the very best to something affordable to everyone. On a recent trip to the area they set me up with gear and even gave me a lift to a spot to fish. That was after I just walked into the shop in the middle of the day with a few hours to burn. I have been in many fly shops but these guys are the real deal. They know their stuff.read more

My son and I had a FANTASTIC day fishing with Austin, our FRA guide. Austin is very knowledgeable (fly fishing since... he was 8) and was excellent as a guide. He worked with us together and individually to improve our gear prep, casting techniques, and fish locating skills. We caught so many trout during our day with Austin I lost count. Great fun. Wonderful memories.read more
