Iceland's fly fishing season is compressed and intense, running from late May through September. Atlantic salmon fishing peaks in June and July when fresh-run fish enter rivers in greatest numbers. Sea-run brown trout extend deeper into the season, with August and September producing excellent fishing as fish stack up in the lower reaches of river systems.
