Front Range Anglers is committed to providing you with the best Colorado fly fishing guides and guided fly fishing experience possible. We have assembled one of the most professional and top notch guide teams in Boulder and on the front range. There are many fly-by-night guide operations out there, but
unlike some others, our guides are properly permitted, CPR certified and fully insured. Do you really want to trust your one day on the water in the Rocky Mountains to someone who just does guiding on the side? Our professional guides are on the water every week, and during the height of the guiding season, typically every day.
With over twenty-five guides on staff during the height of the season, we can typically accommodate any size group, any day of the year. So whether you’re looking for a guided day of fly fishing during a family reunion, college visit, bachelor party, couples day away, or business trip, we can customize your guided trip to exactly what you’re looking for.
Colorado’s Front Range and the area directly around Boulder offers a wide variety of fish species, excellent angling opportunities, and is best known for incredible and exciting dry fly fishing, making for an action-packed day! From wild Brown Trout in Boulder Creek to gorgeous Cutthroat Trout in the high mountain lakes and streams of Rocky Mountain National Park, our goal is to give you lasting memories of a true rocky mountain fly fishing experience.

We like to make this experience as easy and enjoyable as possible for you. Where other guide services will have hidden charges for equipment and flies, we include everything in the price of your trip. As required by the state, the only thing we cannot include is your Colorado fishing license. (The State of Colorado requires your Social Security Number AND a valid photo ID. We can’t issue you a fishing license at the shop if you don’t bring both of these items with you. Please be prepared to provide this information. Also, clients 16 years of age or older MUST have a fishing license.)
Our guided fly-fishing trips include all of the necessary equipment, if needed, including a premium fly rod and reel tailored to your destination, Simms waders and boots, and your flies.
Your FRA guide will provide safe and comfortable transportation to and from your fishing destination. If needed, they can even pick you up from any location around Boulder.
Front Range Anglers can also provide team building corporate trips into the Rocky Mountains. This is a perfect way to relax after a long meeting or conference while keeping the team together. These trips are tailored to accommodate large groups of 10 or more. Let the professional guides of Front Range Anglers provide a relaxing and exciting experience for your corporate team!
I had a fantastic trip with FRA. I met Craig at the lodge and he was a great host and guide. Not only did I catch fish - but I learned a ton. He was teaching me with each cast how to optimize the techniques we were using that day. I think I caught around 15 browns and rainbows. He took me to a beautiful stretch of The Big Thompson River. Loved it!
I really want to give you a hearty well done and thank you for a great trip Tuesday. I can’t wait to get back to your neck of the world and splash some more water.
Thank you so much for an outstanding Colorado fly fishing experience! My inbox has been flooded with “thank you’s” from our team and clients. Everyone had an amazing time and it’s directly a result of you and your team’s commitment to delivering a full-service, exceptionally high quality guided fly fishing trip. Our team is very grateful to you and your fellow guides for delivering on everything you said you would and then some!
I’m confident that our 10 anglers are sitting at their desks in their respective offices thinking of their time on the river, wishing they were knee deep in ice cold water contemplating how they could have landed the one that got away!
Your whole team was terrific on Saturday. What a delight for us to end our conference experience in Denver with a unique group challenge in a truly special place. As the guy who landed five rainbows on his first fly fishing adventure, I’m truly grateful for your personal touch and good humor in making me have a great first time in waders. Truly a pleasure to meet you, I hope I have occasion to bring my own groups to you for more of the same well-planned fun in the outdoors. Please stay in touch!
What an outstanding trip. Jerry is still raving about the day and I have evidence of my biggest fish ever on a fly rod. Thank you again for guiding and taking some awesome pictures. I was very impressed with the knowledge and instruction you were able to provide to both Jerry and I, and of course… the fish you were able to help him land. Perfect.
You took our company and some of our clients on a guided trip on Saturday. I wanted to say thank you to you and your team for a fantastic trip. As the only “experienced” angler in the group, I entered hoping to learn a lot from you guys. I left having learned a lot times 10. I really appreciate how much knowledge Adam imparted on me and wish I hadn’t been out so late the night before so I could have been a little more alert. Make sure you let Adam know I appreciated his advice. Thanks, again.
We went fishing twice with FRA. We had family visiting and none of us had ever been fly fishing, but had always wanted to try it. We were nervous because we had heard that it can be very difficult at first. Don’t be intimidated! The incredible guides at FRA took us out and showed us the ropes. They provided all the gear and were awesome instructors. We had 2 guides for 4 people which allowed great personal attention. We went to a beautiful creek and it was a great experience. We caught a bunch of fish too! Our main guide (Austin) was so good that we specifically scheduled another trip with him
