LODGE INFORMATION

The Lodge

Location
Located 65 miles Southeast of Goose Bay, the Eagle River Trout Lodge is surrounded by the pristine wilderness of Labrador. These waters are heavily protected, meaning that the fishing is truly unspoiled. With these protections in place, some of the largest wild brook trout in the world thrive in the waters of the Eagle River.

Accommodations
Our 4,000 sq ft double A-frame lodge is built to provide you with all the comforts of home. The lodge has 6 double occupancy bedrooms, each equipped with its own full bathroom. Meals are served in our large dining room by professional chefs, and a large wood stove provides the perfect place to tell stories of the day's adventures. Our large mudroom provides ample space for removing and drying fishing clothing, and our fly tying bench is always available for you to whip up your favorite patterns.

The Fishing

Trophy Brook Trout
The pristine waters of the Eagle River have long been known to grow trophy brook trout. The average size of these fish is around 4 pounds, with brook trout weighing 6-8 pounds caught frequently. In recent years, fish over 10 pounds have been landed on several occasions.

Northern Pike
The Eagle River watershed grows very sizeable pike in addition to brook trout. These fish are always eager to take a fly, and the majority of them run between 15 and 20 pounds. Fish up to 30 pounds have been landed by guests in the past.

Fishing Practices
All fishing at Eagle River Trout Lodge is done catch and release style with barbless hooks. No brook trout are ever retained except for injured fish, which are served alongside northern pike for a shore-lunch.
