The Fishing

The Madison River
Considered by many to be the most famous trout river in the country, the Madison River provides phenomenal fishing opportunities for both big brown and rainbow trout. Nestled in a gorgeous valley flanked by rugged mountains on either side, the upper Madison River meanders through countless riffles and rock gardens - all of which are teeming with trout. From vibrant rainbows in the spring to big, aggressive browns in the fall, and phenomenal hopper fishing in the summer, the Madison River truly has something for everyone.

How We Fish
Targeting fish in the Madison can be done using a variety of methods, from streamers to dry flies to nymphs. Many anglers come to the Madison in hopes of catching a big brown on a streamer, which can be accomplished using using medium to large sculpin patterns. Numerous hatches occur on the Madison, from the renown salmonfly to tiny baetis. Additionally, hoppers and beetles are present in great numbers in late summer, presenting anglers with a fantastic opportunity to target large fish on dry flies.
