Bear Creek River Report
12-30-2025
Flows are winter time low, and a lot of the creek has ice, making it difficult to fish in most areas. Fish are in full winter mode, residing in the deepest, slowest water avaialble. Downsize your flies, and tread lightly approching holes and pools, as the fish have been very spooky. Your primary hatch will be Midges.
Please note that we will now be updating the River Reports weekly, typically on Wednesdays until warm weather returns.
...
For dries, use a Slick Midge, Film Critic, Chubby Chernobyl, Morgan's Midge, Mole Fly, Parachute Adams, Hi Viz Quill Midge, Griffith's Gnat, and a Hippy Stomper.
...
For subsurface presentation use a Lil Bit, RS-2, Juju Baetis, Mid Weight Scud, Zebra Midge, AR's Perdigon, Bling Midge, Mini Thin Mint, Tung Stud, and a EZ Egg.
