Not much has changed on the Vrain. In Lyons, the water is starting to heat up, so make sure you do a early start, especialy if fishing on the North Fork in town. The South Fork remains cooler, especially as you get closer to the Park. Expect as per usual, tubers, and swimmers in town as well. Don't forget to end your drift with a good swing, as this can on some days can account for the majority of fish landed. Hatches continue to be midges, PMD's, Drakes, BWO's, and Caddis.
...
For Dries, use a AR's March Brown, Green Drake Colorado, AR's PMD, Ferminsky Drake, Superman Caddis, High Vis BWO, Twisted Caddis, and a Hippy Stomper.
...

Fly Fishing the St. Vrain
The creek is full of opportunistic fish that are eager to take a dry fly, so take advantage of the great caddis, blue wing olive and terrestrial fishing. The midges that call the St. Vrain home are active all year and are always a safe bet come the colder months of the year. This is a great chance to get out and test some of those midge patterns that you have been drooling over all winter. The Fishing in the town of Lyons can be fantastic.
