Wild Trout in Wild Places: Patagonia's endless river systems are home to some of the healthiest trout populations on the planet. These fish are as wild as the places they call home, and provide a fly fishing experience unlike any other!

• Species: The majority of the rivers that you will fish in Patagonia are home to brown and rainbow trout, as well as brook trout. Additionally, landlocked salmon call some of these beautiful rivers home. It is still possible to target native Silversides (similar to the American white fish) and Perch (Patagonian Trout) in some especially unique waters.
• Recommended Gear: Anglers fishing in Patagonia are recommended to have a 6wt fly rod with floating line as well as an 8wt fly rod with a 250/300 grain sink tip for streamer fishing. Fishing here is conducted with everything from dry flies to nymphs and streamers, so having a good selection of all of these flies is crucial!

• November/December: The fishing season here begins in November, once runoff has subsided and rivers return to normal flows. Fish are very eager to feed after a long winter, and the chance to catch a trophy fish is always around the corner. Dry flies, nymphs, and streamers are all productive this time of year. The weather is comparable to Rocky Mountain spring weather, with temperatures ranging from the 50s to the 70s.
• January - Mid March: Full summer has arrived! The chances of rain in the region are very low and temperatures are in the 80´s F°, with some peaks in the 90´s F°. When it’s hot, the splash of a big trout, as you reel it in, will cool you off! Dry fly fishing is top notch and Hopper fishing is at its best.
• Mid March/April: Fall arrives, and Patagonia becomes colorful and vibrant! The days are a bit shorter, rivers are lower, and fishing remains great since fish know that their feeding window is about to close. The fall weather is characterized by colder nights and mornings, and mild temperatures during the day.

• Lodging Overview: Anglers fishing with Patagonia Angling Company will stay at the beautiful Estancia La Paz. This impressive 7500-acre ranch neighbors Los Alerces National Park to the south, and offers exclusive waterfront access to the Rio Grande, numerous hiking trails, and the most luxurious spa in the area. Our anglers will stay in private log cabins overlooking the Rio Grande. Each cabin has central heating, a fireplace, and queen sized beds.
• Dining: The food consists of a selected gourmet menu, which mixes local vegetables and meat. The menu is based on fresh ingredients with a significant Argentine touch. Each of our meals is accompanied with a carefully selected wine. If there is a characteristic culinary trademark of Argentina, that would be its beef and wine, so be prepared to enjoy them together! Our breakfast is the typical Patagonian breakfast, and consists of toasts and baked delicacies, with fresh juices, seasonal fruits, coffee and tea. Lunch, a fully catered meal, will take place by the river, and include meat, salads, wine and dessert.

By only accommodating 4 anglers/non anglers per week, their goal is to provide a carefully curated experience for you with the best possible service. • Non-Fishing Activities: Although specializing in fishing, Patagonia Angling Company is able to offer guests a wide range of other complimentary activities including horseback riding, hiking, bird watching, cultural tours, and sightseeing float trips.

• Patagonia Angling Company 2026 Pricing: $5,980 per angler for 7 night/6 day hosted fishing trips (based on double occupancy)
• What's Included: Daily guided fly fishing, round trip transfer between Esquel (EQS) airport and the lodge, accommodations in Trevelin and all meals and drinks (including an open bar at each cabin, and beer and wine with the meals), fishing licenses and private water fees, national park fees, and supplemental flies, leaders, and tippet.
• What's Not Included: International and domestic airfare, special liquors, gratuities to guides and staff, any extras at the lodge such as phone calls and laundry
• Cancellation/Refund Policy: At the time of booking 50% of the trip is due and payable. At 90 days the remainder plus all VAT and taxes are due. Cancellation greater than 90 days from the date of trip, all monies refunded less $100 fee if a replacement angler is found. Cancellation within 90 Days, no refunds are provided unless a qualified replacement angler is provided. No refunds are provided for trip cancellation due to Weather, Acts of God, Airline/Travel issues.
• Required Documents: All U.S. citizens are required to have a valid passport that does not expire within six (6) months of trips dates. Please be sure that your passport has at least two blank, unstamped pages remaining in the back, and that it is not torn, de-laminated, or damaged in any way.
• Travel Arrangements and Insurance: Front Range Anglers will assist with airline tickets, hotels, transfers, and all travel logistics for trips to Patagonia Angling Company. FRA REQUIRES all anglers to have Medical Evacuation Insurance- we recommend Global Rescue, and we HIGHLY recommend Trip Cancellation/Interruption Insurance.
