Bear Creek River Report

Bear Creek River Report

9-16-2025

Flows are levelling out, and may hopefully, boost a bit with some storms. Water can be skinny in spots, with spooky fish at times. Generally, look for your deeper holes and pools, as well as pocket water. As per usual, places like Lair O' The Bear have been getting the most pressure, so we recommend a smaller pulloff for better success.
Primary hatches are Drakes (sparse), PMDs, Cranflies, Midges, and Caddis (the smaller the better).

...

For dries, use a Crane Fly, Ferminsky Drake, Chubby Chernobyl, AR's PMD, Head Light Sally, Parachute Adams, Roza's Red Butt Caddis, Superman Caddis, and a Hippy Stomper.

...

For subsurface presentation use a Lil Bit, Jujubee Midge, Juju Baetis, Mop Fly, Prairie Doggin' Pupa, Spanish Bullet, Panty Dropper PMD, Tung Poudre Pupa, Arizona Nymph, Iron Sally, and a AR's Perdigon.
