General Itinerary

Sunday Arrival
Upon arrival, you will be picked up in a four-door silver Ford pickup by your guide Rick Matney. Following the 10 minute drive to the lodge, you will be shown to your rooms. If you have not yet purchased your fishing license, you will be driven into town to do so. In the afternoon, guests will be taken out on the boat, the Chrome Chaser, to put out crab and shrimp pots for your week of harvest.

Fishing Days
Breakfast is served at 6:00am, and your lunch for the day will be made prior to breakfast. Guests will then depart on the Chrome Chaser to one of 13 streams to target trophy steelhead. After arriving back at the lodge, dinner will be served between 6:30 and 7:00.

Departure Day
On Saturday morning, we will split up and pack your frozen seafood in insulated boxes for you trip home. You will need to declare the contents of the box at the airport. If you have an afternoon departure flight time, we may be able to fish near Wrangell before your flight.

Travel Details

General Information
Alaska Airlines is the only airline that services Southeast Alaska. You will want to look for flights that arrive on Sunday, April 19th and that depart on Saturday, April 25th. There are two flights a day that arrive and depart from Wrangell Island, and it does not matter which flights guests choose to book.

Flights out of Seattle will have one stop before Wrangell. The early morning flight stops in Ketchikan, where passengers travelling to Wrangell Island will remain on the plane while those going to Ketchikan deplane. Guests departing Seattle after 7:00am will stop in Juneau for a brief layover and to change planes. They will arrive at Wrangell at around 3:30 in the afternoon.
