Bonefishing at East End Lodge
Grand Bahama's unique geography creates exceptional bonefishing. The cool, deep waters surrounding the island produce bonefish significantly larger than those found in warmer Caribbean locations. These fish average 5-6 pounds, with double-digit bones encountered regularly; not occasionally, but daily.
The Flats
East End Lodge provides access to vast sand and turtle grass flats, mangrove-lined shorelines, and deep channels where trophy bones cruise and tail. The variety of water types ensures productive fishing regardless of wind, tide, or weather conditions.
The Bonefish
These are selective fish that require precise presentation. Long leaders (12-14 feet), small flies (#4-8), and accurate casts are essential. The reward? Watching a 7-pound bonefish materialize from nowhere, inspect your fly, and explode when it eats; then scream 100 yards of line off your reel.
