El Pescador sits on Ambergris Caye with access to a 250-square-mile fishery featuring the only classic tarpon flats outside South Florida. The flats are world-renowned for offering sight-casting opportunities to tarpon 12 months a year.

Found in large schools.

• Size Range: 4-30 pounds (majority 8-10 pounds)
• Location: Bonefish flats and tarpon flats
• Opportunities: Large schools increase shot opportunities

Tarpon (Megalops atlanticus)
The primary draw for El Pescador.

• Size: Resident population over 100 pounds
• Fishery: 250 square miles with fish spread throughout
• Season: Year-round resident tarpon, plus late summer migratory population
• Flats: Only classic tarpon flats outside South Florida

Opportunities: Sight-casting 12 months a year

El Pescador Lodge

Located right on the beach on Ambergris Caye, El Pescador offers two accommodation options with stunning Caribbean views.

Main Lodge

The lodge is conveniently located just a few miles from San Pedro Town with its many gift shops, restaurants, bars, and nightspots. Guests usually travel by golf cart which can be easily rented at the front desk.

Weekly Itinerary

Day 1 – Arrival

• Fly to Belize International Airport (BZE)
• Clear customs and immigration
• El Pescador transfers (land, air, sea to Ambergris Caye)
• Arrive at lodge
• Welcome drink
• Settle into guest room or villa
• Orientation and guide meeting
• Dinner at lodge

Days 2-7 – Fishing Days

• Breakfast at lodge
• Depart for guided flats fishing
• Fish 250-square-mile fishery for tarpon, bonefish, permit
• Wade or fish from boat depending on conditions
• Pursue Grand Slam opportunities
• Lunch on the water
• Continue fishing through optimal tides
• Return to lodge
• Hors d'oeuvres and beverages at bar
• Dinner featuring local cuisine
• Evening at leisure (pool, beach, or San Pedro Town via golf cart)

Day 8 – Departure

• Final breakfast
• Transfer to Belize International Airport
• Connect to homeward flights

Low Season (July 16 – December 15):

• Adventure Travel Waiver required prior to departure
• Deposits not transferable between trips
• Prices subject to change based on foreign exchange and tariffs

Cancellation Policy

• At booking: 50% deposit due and payable
• 90 days before trip: Remainder plus VAT and taxes due
• Cancellation 90+ days out: Full refund less $100 fee (if replacement found)
• Cancellation within 90 days: No refund unless qualified replacement provided
• No refunds for weather, acts of God, or airline/travel issues
