With the crowds continuing to grow on Colorado's famous trout rivers and streams, alpine lakes are the perfect places to seek solitude, explore beautiful places, and catch amazing fish! New for summer 2025, we're excited to offer a unique two day alpine lake fly fishing course that will equip you with all of the information and on-water experience that you need to gain confidence fishing Colorado's alpine lakes! Whether you've never ventured into the high country or are a seasoned veteran, this course is for you! This is NOT an introductory level fly fishing course, so fundamental fly casting, knot tying, and water reading techniques are prerequisite requirements for this course.
COST: $400
DURATION: Two Days - One in the Classroom and One on the Water
CLASS SIZE: Limited to 6 Participants Per Session
COURSE OVERVIEW:
The first day of the course will consist of a three hour (9am-12pm) in-shop classroom session in which students will learn a basic overview of alpine lake ecosystems, as well as various strategies and techniques for achieving success at alpine lakes throughout the summer season. Additionally, students will learn about safety considerations while recreating in alpine environments.
The second day will begin early in the morning at a pre-determined meeting spot, at which point we will hike to our chosen alpine lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. We will spend the day practicing and applying the techniques and strategies learned in the classroom - all while enjoying the incredible backdrop of the rockies! Lunch will be provided, and fishing will continue until approximately 3pm. (weather permitting)
